Advanced Emergency Services RN Training Program

Program Objectives

Increase and enhance the following skills:

  • Application of critical thinking
  • Advanced assessment
  • Clinical expertise at the beside
  • Serve as a role model for staff related to professional growth and development
  • Utilize and apply evidenced-based practice
  • Provide functional support to facilitate increased quality and safe patient care


  • Current ED RNs with a minimum of 2-years experience (excluding Basic Transition Program)
  • Full-time benefit status and no written corrective action in the past 12 months
  • Positive attitude and solution-oriented work experience
  • Committed to participate in and lead department improvement efforts such as PI projects, for a
    minimum of one year following the program
