The 102,000-square-foot Scripps Proton Therapy Center will be the first in San Diego County and one of only 10 nationwide to offer proton therapy. Expected to attract patients from across the West, the center enhances the range of cancer care services available at Scripps Cancer Center.
When the center opens in spring 2013, Scripps will provide the most comprehensive range of radiation therapy options available. The proton therapy center has the capacity to treat 2,400 patients per year. The $220 million center is being built on seven acres in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego.
