Chief Executive, Senior Vice President, Scripps Medical Foundation
Shiraz Fagan was named Chief Executive of the Scripps Medical Foundation in May 2012. In this role, she is responsible for planning and managing the daily operations of Scripps Medical Foundation, which includes Scripps Clinic, Scripps Coastal Medical Center and the Scripps Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Group. The Scripps Medical Foundation operates 20 clinic locations throughout San Diego and is supported by more than 600 physicians and 2,500 employees.
Fagan joined the project management office (PMO) at Scripps in 2002 as a senior project manager to assist the organization with critical financial turnaround and process improvement priorities. Subsequent to her role in PMO, Fagan served as chief operating executive for Scripps Clinic and, most recently, vice-president of physician services. As part of her role in the physician services division, Fagan completed eight key physician group acquisitions for Scripps Health.
Prior to Scripps, Fagan was a senior associate at Computer Sciences Corporation in San Francisco. As a health care management consultant, she helped several organizations around the country develop strategic plans and achieve financial and operational improvement. Fagan began her career at Goldman Sachs, specializing in health care mergers and acquisitions.
Fagan played tennis and soccer during her tenure at Princeton University. She lives in Del Mar with her husband, a pediatric cardiologist, and two children.
