John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion, the Newest Scripps Clinic Location
Adjoining Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, the John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion will help transform medicine by combining the latest advancements in lifesaving research and technology. Here physicians, technicians and medical staff will have immediate access to state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and treatments in a highly collaborative environment.
This Scripps Clinic pavilion is named in honor of Eileen and John “Jack” Anderson’s youngest son who passed away from cancer in 2004.
The Andersons donated $25 million to help build the six-story, 175,000-square-foot medical complex. Once completed in 2016, this $130 million facility will house a variety of specialty services, including:
- Cardiothoracic surgery
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- General cardiology
- General surgery
- Infectious disease diagnosis and treatment
- Integrative cardiology
- Interventional cardiology
- Pulmonary medicine
- Vascular surgery
The building will also include four outpatient cardiac catheterization labs that will allow physicians to perform certain cardiac procedures in an outpatient setting.
Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla reaches new milestone
The last steel beam is set in the construction of the Anderson Medical Pavilion on the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus. An event marking this milestone honors major donors Jack and Eileen Anderson.
