Look for the Scripps Mobile Medical Unit in a neighborhood near you. With the ability to provide patient education and community health screenings at a variety of locations throughout the county, the mobile medical unit helps Scripps improve the health of our community and reach underserved populations.

The Mobile Medical Unit is a 40-foot, bright blue motor coach designed with two examination rooms, a nurse’s station, state-of-the-art telecommunications, and interior and exterior plasma television screens for patient education.

We offer a variety of community-based screenings and services, including:

  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Diabetes risk assessments
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluations
  • Sleep apnea risk assessments

At select events only:

  • Urgent care services
  • Skin cancer screenings
  • Cholesterol screenings
  • Flu vaccination clinics

Disaster preparedness and response

The mobile medical unit is equipped to be a back-up triage and communications unit for Scripps Health in case of a community disaster, such as wildfires or a bio-terrorism incident. In addition, staff can provide community education in preparation of an emergency or disaster.

Where to find us

The Mobile Medical Unit is available for employer-sponsored health screenings, education and community events. You can also find us at select Padres games. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
