Genomic Medicine
Scripps Genomic Medicine, an initiative of Scripps Health in collabora-tion with The Scripps Research Institute, supports basic research and clini¬cal programs focused on defining the genes that underlie susceptibility to disease, and will take these findings into drug discovery programs and ultimately into clinical trials.
Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Sr.Administrative Director has responsibility for:
- the financial and administrative performance of the Scripps Translational Science Institute, including Genomic Medicine and Advanced Clinical Trials.
- Implementation of the strategic and operational direction of the Institute as envisioned by the Chief Academic Officer and assures optimal resources for success, including space, staff, equipment, and operating procedures.
- is a member of the leadership team of the Translational Science Institute and Genomic Medicine and works very closely with scientists, physicians, executives from Scripps Health (all companies), TSRI, biotech companies, academic institutions, and other organizations
- Coordinates and manages all financial related functions, the annual operating and capital budget,contract negotiations with collaborating entities, and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Keeps updated on industry trends and advises Scripps Health regarding a “personalized medicine” product line.
