Scripps Health and Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure Partner to Strike Out Cancer

All male ticket holders 50 or older (or 40 and older with a family history of prostate cancer) at the San Diego Padres game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park on Sept. 3. are eligible to participate in this event.


Screenings will begin when the ballpark’s gates open and will continue until the seventh inning stretch. A team of Scripps phlebotomists will administer prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests, while Scripps physicians will administer digital rectal exams from the privacy of the Scripps Mobile Medical Unit. Educational materials about prostate cancer will also be available.

Where

Screenings will be performed at the Scripps Mobile Medical Unit, which will be located in the Park at the Park, beyond the right-field fence.


Participants will receive test results via confidential mail.

About Ed Randall Fans for the Cure

Ed Randall is a nationally renowned baseball author, broadcaster and historian who currently hosts programs on the MLB Radio Network and WFAN Radio in New York. After his own successful prostate cancer treatment at age 47, Randall founded ERFFTC in 2003. The organization has held educational and screening events in partnership with several teams in Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League.
