Family Residency Rotations and Curriculum
The Scripps Family Medicine Residency has an experienced group of core faculty that provides comprehensive training. The following is an overview of the curriculum during the first, second and third year.
Our continuity clinical experience consists of resident continuity clinics at Chula Vista Family Clinic, pediatric continuity clinics, daily didactics, weekly grand rounds, behavioral medicine conference, sports medicine conferences and skilled nursing home rounds.
First Year
- Community Medicine – 4 weeks
- Inpatient Medicine at Scripps Mercy Hillcrest – 6 weeks
- Inpatient Medicine at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista – 8 weeks
- Special Care Nursery – 4 weeks
- Inpatient Pediatrics at Rady Children’s – 4 weeks
- Outpatient Pediatrics – 4 weeks
- OB-GYN – 8 weeks
- Surgery – 4 weeks
- Behavioral Medicine – 4 weeks
- Night float – 4 weeks
- Vacation – 4 weeks
