Annual Stipends

First postgraduate year (intern) — $49,184
Second postgraduate year — $50,964
Third postgraduate year — $52,977

Meals

Meal tickets are provided for on-call nights and meal cards are provided weekly upon completion of medical records.

Professional Liability Coverage

Professional liability coverage is provided by Scripps for all Scripps Mercy Hospital and Scripps Chula Vista residents for claims that arise out of the performance of their duties as Scripps employees.

Health Insurance

All members of the resident staff are offered health insurance benefits for themselves and their families, which includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans, under the Scripps Medical Insurance Plan.

Vacations and Leave

• Four weeks per year for PGY-1 residents (20 working days)
• Four weeks for PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents (20 working days)
• Up to 10 additional days for personal time off (i.e. medical leave, family emergencies or holidays)
