The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program at Scripps Clinic is dedicated to clinical excellence, physician and fellowship education, and clinical and basic science research.
Fellows in cardiovascular diseases and residents in internal medicine from Scripps Clinic and other institutions participate in clinical cardiac magnetic resonance education.
A fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging, under the supervision of Dr. Robert Russo, was initiated in 1999 and continues a commitment to fellowship education today. The position is funded in part by the Hewitt Medical Research Foundation. The 18-24 month long fellowship includes research and clinical experience leading to Level 3 CMR certification. In addition, fellows are exposed to all modalities of invasive (IVUS) and non-invasive cardiac imaging.
