Scripps La Jolla has been an ASBS-designated Center of Excellence for three years. The ASBS Centers of Excellence program was created to recognize bariatric surgery centers that perform well and to help surgeons and hospitals continue to improve the quality and safety of care provided.

The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for stroke care and designated as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. This recognizes a process in place for quick, effective response to stroke sufferers.

STEMI receiving center designation from the American Heart Association

Recognizes a best-practices process in place for fast, effective response to heart attack.

ANCC Magnet status

The ANCC designated Scripps La Jolla with Magnet status for excellence in clinical practice — the first Magnet hospital in San Diego. Magnet designation is nursing’s top honor and is nationally recognized as the gold standard in patient care.

Beacon Award for critical care excellence

2009 recipients of the prestigious Beacon Award for adult critical care. This award recognizes our critical care unit for patient outcomes, education and training, evidence-based practices, and organizational integrity.
