DEXA Bone Densitometry

Related Information

A DEXA (dual energy X-ray absorptiometry) bone densitometry scan accurately measures bone density or bone mass to determine bone loss. DEXA bone densitometry is an easy and quick exam (about 15 to 20 minutes), most commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis, a gradual loss of calcium in the bones that can leave you at higher risk for fractures and breaks.
