X-rays

Related Information

X-rays use low doses of radiation to create pictures that help physicians diagnose diseases or injuries. The actual X-ray is a form of energy that penetrates the body to produce internal images of the body. The parts of the inner body that are denser — bones for example — absorb a greater amount of radiation and appear brighter on the images, while those parts that are less dense, such as muscle and fat, appear darker.

Diagnostic X-rays are available at all Scripps’ hospitals.
