The San Diego Border Area Health Education Center (AHEC) works to build and support the health care workforce in border communities. The organization offers youth and health professional programs that promote health careers, job placement and education.

Programs include:
  • Mentoring
  • Health career training, education and outreach
  • Youth summer camps
  • Cultural competency training for health professionals
  • School Health Clinics
  • Clinical Training Placements

Scripps Family Medicine Residency Program

Training family practice physicians to care for the San Diego Border community through:
  • School health clinics
  • Community health curriculum and rotations
  • Clinical training placements
  • Physician training, education and outreach
