Intensive Care

Intensive Care Unit at Scripps Green Hospital

If your loved one has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Scripps Green Hospital, you can feel assured that we will provide the best care possible. Our team of health professionals is specially trained to care for critically ill patients and those who need intensive monitoring following major surgery, including organ transplantation.

To ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and seamless care, our board-certified critical care physicians from Scripps Clinic Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine staff the ICU 24 hours a day. This around-the-clock availability also guarantees that a physician can quickly answer your questions and address your concerns.

When an ICU patient requires additional specialized care, our team has immediate access to the expertise of cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other specialists on staff at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines and Scripps Green Hospital. In addition, your loved one will benefit from the state-of-the art equipment and technology available at our facility. From sophisticated bedside monitors to the most advanced ventilators and defibrillators, our ICU is equipped to provide safe, high quality care.

The visiting hours, length of visit and number of visitors allowed in the ICU is individually based on the care needs of each patient. However, due to shift changes and to allow the critical care team to care for patients, visiting will not be permitted from 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and again from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

If you need to reach an ICU staff member, please call the ICU directly at 858-554-4640 or the Scripps Green Hospital operator at 858-455-9100.
