The development of a care plan typically begins with careful analysis of your sleep patterns, utilizing the latest sleep-monitoring technologies. Factors such as age, work schedule and environmental conditions that affect sleep are taken into account, in order to design an individualized treatment course.

Diagnosing and treating sleep disorders

Complex sleep disorders often require in-depth diagnostics to fully understand the source of the sleep problems. Many of our diagnostic and treatment services are performed in the sleep laboratory at Scripps Clinic, which is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. These services include:

  • Office consultations
  • Diagnostic polysomnography in our overnight sleep lab, which provides comfortable, private rooms with a double bed
  • Actigraphy (monitors sleep and awake activity) in the home
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia
  • Medication management for any sleep disorder
