Sports Medicine Program at Scripps Clinic

The Sports Medicine Program at Scripps Clinic in San Diego is staffed by a highly-trained team of clinicians who specialize in preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to sports and exercise. Using the most advanced and minimally invasive procedures, they provide medical and surgical care for musculoskeletal conditions of the hand, elbow, shoulder, foot and knee.

Members of sports medicine team are the chosen physicians for the San Diego Padres, the United States Olympic Training Center and a handful of local high schools. They have extensive experience providing care for trauma-induced sports injuries and conditions caused by “wear and tear.” By combining their expertise with sport-specific knowledge and tailored rehabilitation services, they help athletes of all levels alleviate pain and achieve peak performance.

Comprehensive care

The program’s medical team includes fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians and physician assistants. The clinicians collaborate closely with physical therapists at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital. Together, they provide patients with the comprehensive care needed to speed recovery and safely return to activity.

The Sports Medicine Program is based at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines and Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, but our specialists also practice at several Scripps Clinic locations in San Diego County.
