Scripps Trauma Expert Discusses Trauma Crisis in U.S.

Chicago — Scripps Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brent Eastman, FACS, presented a keynote speech on the state of U.S. trauma care at the American College of Surgeons’ annual Clinical Congress in Chicago Oct. 13, 2009.


Afterward, Dr. Eastman participated in a media briefing where he summarized key points from his lecture. Dr. Eastman revealed new data showing gaps in trauma care — particularly in rural America — and called for greater support for more trauma systems as part of current health care reform efforts.
