Why Drugs Don't Help Diabetes Patients' Hearts

TIME.com recently interviewed Dr. Daniel Einhorn, medical director at Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute, about a series of clinical research studies that will soon be published by The New England Journal of Medicine. The three treatment strategies were expected to prevent heart attacks among people with Type 2 diabetes. Einhorn, an author on two of the three studies, discussed the studies’ methods and results.
