19th Annual Spinoff: Auction for Life, Wild, Wild West, Rounds Up $785,000 to Support Cancer Care

There was a bidding showdown at the 19th Annual Spinoff: Auction for Life, Wild, Wild West, on May 6, 2010, raising more than $785,000 to support cancer programs and minimally invasive surgery at Scripps Cancer Center, Stevens Division, at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.


More than 400 guests purchased hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime items during the live and silent auction event, including a weekend of luxury at a private Scottish Castle and the opportunity to attend a live taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show during its final season. Proceeds from the inspiring evening benefit clinical research, early detection, education and patient support services at Scripps Cancer Center, Stevens Division. A special fund-an-item auction also supported minimally invasive surgery, with the most advanced technology to improve outcomes and reduce recovery times for our cancer patients.
