Teen Stroke Patient Gets Back to Volleyball

In 2009, high school volleyball player Claire Cordua had a stroke while driving to the beach. She was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla where Giuseppe Ammirati, MD, was able to save her life. A year later, Cordua is in college and getting ready to participate in her first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) volleyball game. Cordua’s recovery was recently profiled by the NCAA.
