No Cure for COPD; Treatment Available

COPD — chronic obstructive pulmonary disease — is a progressive disease of the lungs that makes it hard to breathe and is one of the most common lung diseases in adults. It is marked by difficulty exhaling because of changes in the lungs, shortness of breath, chronic cough and production of large amounts of mucus.

Scripps Health Pulmonologist Joseph Mizzell, MD, discusses the symptoms and treatment options associated with COPD in the U-T San Diego article No Cure for COPD; Treatment Available.
