‘Jersey Boys’ Tribute Show Headlines Scripps Benefit Concert Aug. 14

Event at Humphreys to benefit Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute

Oh, What a Night!, a tribute band, will perform songs from the hit Broadway play and movie “Jersey Boys” at the 15th annual benefit concert for Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute on Aug.14 at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay.

Presented by the Scripps Health Foundation, the concert will feature songs made famous by the original Jersey Boys- Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. In addition to performances of such classics as “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” the event will include a cocktail reception, buffet dinner and silent and live auctions.

Proceeds from the fund-raising event will benefit the Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute’s campaign in support of research, compassionate care, education, community outreach and prevention programs. More than 29 million people in the United States have diabetes and more than one-fourth don’t know it, according to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
