Scripps neurologist Michael Lobatz, MD, was recently interviewed by the U-T San Diego regarding a county report that some areas have higher rates of Alzheimer’s diagnoses.

In his interview Dr. Lobatz shared that the higher rates in La Mesa, National City and Chula Vista were likely due to San Diego’s popularity with retirees, a heightened awareness and diagnosis of the disease among medical professionals as well as a superior level of care. He also emphasized that San Diego residents benefit from a multitude of patient and caregiver programs.
