Politico interviewed Scripps Health’s director of digital medicine, Steven Steinhubl, MD, about new research that looks at online social networks that target obesity.

The review of 12 prior studies in this area found that social media interventions produced a “modest, but significant” reduction in body-mass index for the 941 participants.
