Newspaper Updates Recovery of Heart Patient Rod Carew

Scripps heart patient and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew discussed his challenges and accomplishments in an Orange County Register article since being implanted with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) at Prebys Cardiovascular Institute to treat heart failure.

“Every day, I feel a little better, a little stronger, but it’s still tough,” he said.
