Dan Giurgiu, MD
Dr. Dan Giurgiu received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1990. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahneman University College of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in minimal invasive surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Giurgiu’s main clinical interests include conditions requiring advanced laparoscopic procedures. In particular, he specializes in the surgical management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and laparoscopic colon surgery, as well as laparoscopic removal of solid organs, such as spleen and adrenal glands. Dr. Giurgiu performs both standard and laparoscopic surgery for hernias, biliary tract disease and tumors of the digestive tract. He also has extensive experience with sentinel lymph node biopsy for diseases of the breast.
Fluent in Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian, Dr. Giurgiu enjoys consulting patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. He has been practicing surgery in San Diego since 1999.
