With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Greenway has brought a wealth of expertise and recognition to Scripps Clinic. In 1984, he obtained the first laser for skin treatment at Scripps Clinic. And he was the first physician to treat basal cell carcinoma with injected intralesional alfa 2-b interferon as an alternative to surgery.

Throughout his tenure at Scripps Clinic, Dr. Greenway has held numerous leadership positions, including chief executive officer for Scripps Clinic and past president of the American College of Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Dermatological Association and the American Medical Association. Dr. Greenway is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Greenway is also committed to medical education and teaching. In addition to establishing the Mohs Dermatologic Surgery fellowship program, which is one of the best in the country, he is a volunteer clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Diego and preceptor for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. To date, Dr. Greenway has trained more than 30 fellows from across the country and Australia.

In recognition for his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Greenway has received numerous accolades over the years. His most recent recognitions include being named to the “Best Doctors in America” and “America’s Top Doctors for Cancer” lists.
