John Romine, MD

At Scripps Clinic since 1981, John Romine, MD is head of the Division of Neurology and Chief of Staff Emeritus at Scripps Green Hospital. He received his medical degree, with honors, from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. Dr. Romine completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, and a neurology residency and neuromuscular fellowship at McGill University in Montreal. He has served as a clinical professor of neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego, and as an adjunct associate member of the Department of Molecular and Experimental Medicine at The Scripps Research Institute. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Romine is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of numerous other professional organizations and committees including the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He has authored or co-authored more than 45 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. His areas of clinical expertise include general neurology, neuromuscular disorders and electromyography.
