Daniel R. Salomon, M.D., is co-director of the Scripps Center for Organ & Cell Transplantation and medical director of the Scripps Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Program. He is an associate professor, Department of Molecular & Experimental Medicine, at The Scripps Research Institute, and transplant nephrologist at Scripps Clinic. Dr. Salomon provides post-kidney, pancreas and liver transplant follow-up care to patients at the Scripps Center for Organ and Cell Transplantation.

Dr. Salomon received his medical degree at Stritch-Loyola School of Medicine, Maywood, Illinois, and postdoctoral degree at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, UCLA,
Los Angeles, Calif., in internal medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and a fellowship in nephrology and Organ Transplantation at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Salomon is the director of the GCRC Core Laboratory for The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, Calif. He is the chair of the Biological Response Modifiers Advisory Committee, U.S. Food & Drug Administration, a member of the U.S. Secretary of Health Xenotransplantation Advisory Committee and the chair of the NIH Islet Resources Consortium for clinical islet transplantation
