Christopher Benbow, MD
A member of the Division of Mental Health in La Jolla, Dr. Benbow, received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in Houston, TX where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He served as Chief Resident in psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His experience includes research in Neurophysiology and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at UCSD Medical Center as well as Clinical Psychopharmacology at the Clinical Neuroscience Research Center in San Diego, CA. He has also gained clinical experience in general Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology at the Downtown Mental Health Clinic in San Diego, CA. He has served as Medical Director at San Luis Rey Hospital Continuing Care Clinic, Chairman of the San Luis Rey Hospital Utilization Review Committee and Chief of Staff at the San Luis Rey Residential Treatment Center. Currently, Dr. Benbow is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
