A general and bariatric surgeon, Janos Taller, MD, has expertise in minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. His clinical interests include interventional endoscopy, and the new fields of single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) and natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES).
Dr. Taller received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and a medical degree from The Chicago Medical School. He completed a general surgery internship at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and a general surgery residency in at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). Afterward, Dr. Taller fulfilled an advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
Committed to teaching physicians in training, Dr. Taller serves as an assistant professor in the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences’ department of surgery. He is also a member of the teaching faculty in the department of surgery at UCSD School of Medicine.
Dr. Taller routinely presents his research and surgical techniques at national meetings. He is a contributing member on the Bariatric and Technology Committees of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), which serves to advance the development and integration of minimally invasive and bariatric procedures.
A dedicated physician and surgeon, he believes that minimally invasive surgery represents the future of surgical techniques as it can serve to decrease pain, decrease limitations and increase the comfort and quality of life for patients requiring surgery.
