Biography

Christopher Hajnik, MD, is fellowship-trained in joint reconstructive surgery of the knee and hip. His subspecialties include knee and hip joint replacements and revisions, cartilage restoration, Subchondroplasty and knee surgery. He performs robotic- and computer-assisted partial and total knee replacements. He recommends and performs anterior hip replacement surgery for appropriate patient candidates, which may allow for earlier recovery. Dr. Hajnik welcomes new patient consultations, as well as patients seeking a second medical opinion.

Dr. Hajnik brings a uniquely personal perspective to his orthopedic practice. As a young athlete, he suffered knee injuries which subsequently resulted in early-onset osteoarthritis. Despite x-rays that confirm his own candidacy for knee replacement surgery, he manages his knee arthritis with a conservative regimen consisting of low-impact exercise and occasional over-the-counter pain medications. He recommends an initial conservative, non-operative treatment plan for his patients.

A Carlsbad resident, Dr. Hajnik enjoys college football, scuba, free diving and golf.
