Laura Goetz, MD

When Laura H. Goetz was a medical student, a mentor told her to start each day focusing on what she could do to care for patients, not just treat them. A general surgeon with specialized training in colon and rectal surgery and pelvic floor conditions, she has had the opportunity to put that advice into practice over the course of her career.

As medical care changes and becomes more technology driven, Dr. Goetz maintains a more personal touch. In addition to specialty surgeries, she also performs general surgery, including hernia repair and gallbladder surgery. Through further training in public health, she is also interested in disease prevention, especially colorectal cancer prevention.

When she isn’t caring for her patients, Dr. Goetz enjoys cooking for family and friends. She also bicycles and plays violin, and took up surfing when she moved to California in 2004.
