Chocolate Hazelnut Toasts Recipe

Nothing is more simple or satisfying than bread and chocolate. In this quick appetizer we use hazelnuts, but you can substitute with almonds, walnuts or a little orange zest.

Ingredients

  • 15 slices diagonally cut whole grain French bread (about 1/4-inch thick)
  • 5 oz bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped hazelnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Lightly coat both sides of bread slices with nonstick cooking spray. Place bread on a baking sheet; broil for 2 minutes on each side, or until toasted. Remove bread from oven.
  3. Reduce oven temperature to 350°.
  4. Sprinkle each bread slice with chocolate. Bake for 5 minutes, or until chocolate melts. Garnish with hazelnuts. Serve warm.
