Green Beans with Almond Slices Recipe

Thanksgiving recipes should be delicious and easy too. These quick green beans are a perfect side dish for your turkey. They can be made ahead—reheat and add almonds just before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs green beans, trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp reduced-calorie trans fat free margarine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds
  • Black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large pot, blanch green beans in simmering water for 3 minutes, or until slightly tender. Drain in a colander. In a large skillet, melt margarine over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add green beans and sauté until heated through, about 5 minutes. Add almonds and season with pepper to taste. Toss to combine and serve.
