Creamy White Chili Recipe

Serve this heart healthy, white chili at your next Winter buffet. This turkey and white bean dish is a healthier, low fat twist on traditional beef and bean chili that is high in fat.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless turkey breast, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 medium onion, cubed
  • 2 large chili peppers, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cans (15 1/2 oz each) great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (10 1/2 oz) low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup fat-free sour cream
  • 1/2 cup skim milk

Directions

  1. Lightly coat a large pot with nonstick cooking spray and heat over moderate heat. Add turkey, onion, peppers and garlic powder and sauté until turkey is cooked through.
  2. Add beans, broth, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in sour cream and milk. Serve immediately.
