Low Fat Chocolate Cake Recipe

A dessert with the words “low fat” and “chocolate” together does exist. Try this chocolate cake recipe that is both low in fat and cholesterol.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup Canola Oil
  • 1/3 cup prune plum filling
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup skim milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa and baking soda. Slowly add egg, oil, prune plum filling, vanilla extract, water and milk. Mix until smooth. Pour into a 9x13x2-inch pan that has been sprayed with nonstick coating. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  2. Variation:Cupcakes: Line muffin cups with paper baking liners. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes
