Pork Pot Stickers Recipe

If your family loves Chinese food, they’ll love these easy appetizers cooked in sesame oil. Try the low sodium dipping sauce and you’ll never order unhealthy dumplings again.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 leek, chopped
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup pulled pork loin
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 18 small wonton wrappers
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 scallion, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat over to 250 degrees.
  2. Cook cabbage, leek, black pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper and sesame oil in a wok over medium high heat until cabbage is wilted. Transfer mixture to a food processor and add cilantro, pork loin and soy sauce. Pulse until all ingredients are mixed together completely (coarsely pureed).
  3. Spoon mixture into wonton wrappers. Wet fingertips and pinch wontons into pockets.Steam the pot stickers for about two minutes, either in a steamer of by coating a frying pan with cooking spray and adding a small amount of water, cooking each side for about a minute, until wrapper becomes transparent).
  4. Grease a baking pan with sesame oil and bake until desired crispness.
  5. Whisk soy sauce, honey, green onion and scallion. Serve as a dipping sauce.
