Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Try this healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe the next time you need to whip up a batch of cookies but don’t want all the calories that go with them.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 1 1/4 cups trans fat free reduced calorie margarine
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl, combine flours, baking soda, oats and oat bran. In a large bowl, cream together margarine and sugars. Add egg whites and vanilla, beat until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
