Helping People Cope with Loss
After you have experienced the death of a loved one, it can be helpful to talk to someone about your fears and concerns. Scripps bereavement counselors are available to support you and your family. You don’t have to go it alone.
To support you in this process the trained professionals at Scripps Bereavement Program offer compassionate support through a variety of programs. Our goals are to provide you with a safe, supportive environment to facilitate your adaptation to the loss, as well as help reduce feelings of distress, increase personal awareness, manage anxiety and stress, and enhance coping strategies.
Whether you choose to talk to a counselor over the phone or participate in a face-to-face support group with others who have experienced a similar loss, we hope that you’ll call upon services that suit your needs.
Scripps Bereavement Program counselors are available to listen, offer comfort and help you identify a plan that will meet your needs. They will meet with you privately at a mutually agreed upon time and place. While the journey through grief may seem extremely difficult, we hope to help you adapt to the loss and to continue to invest in a life worth living.
