Scripps leads the way in cancer care with three dedicated breast care centers, a state-of-the-art radiation therapy center and a proton therapy center.

Scripps Health is also the place where specially trained nurse navigators are there each step of the way to assist and support you during diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

San Diego’s first intraoperative radiation therapy

Scripps Health ushered in another first for San Diego breast cancer care with intraoperative electron beam radiation therapy (IOERT) at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. This option during breast surgery promises greater patient convenience and faster treatment times through a single 2-minute dose of radiation that can replace or reduce radiation therapy treatments over several weeks, post-surgery.
