As a certified comprehensive stroke center, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla can provide minimally invasive stroke treatments not available in many other hospitals. And stroke care is provided by an extensively trained staff of neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurointerventional and vascular surgeons, advanced practice stroke-trained nurses, and a full range of neuro-rehabilitation specialists.

In addition, our commitment to quality patient care earned us Primary Stroke Center designation at four of our hospital locations and accreditation by The Joint Commission, the gold standard for stroke care. Our physicians, nurses and other medical staff are specially trained to recognize the signs of stroke and deliver immediate, expert care. Emergency room physicians, neurologists and neurointerventional surgeons quickly determine the nature of the stroke and provide proper treatment.

A multidisciplinary stroke rehabilitation team of physical, occupational and speech therapists, physicians, nurses and other rehabilitation professionals provide personalized care to help stroke patients return to independent living and activities.
