Scripps Center for Organ and Cell Transplantation
Scripps Center for Organ and Cell Transplantation offers a wide range of supportive services to meet the specialized needs of transplant patients and their loved ones, including support groups and educational classes.
Support Groups
Our program provides free, monthly support groups for solid organ transplant patients and their families. The groups are designed to provide support in coping with the stresses involved in the transplant process and the latest medical information regarding treatment.
The support groups meet the first Wednesday of every month in the Scripps Green Hospital Amphitheater from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No registration is required. For more information, please call 858-554-8156.
The general format includes a guest speaker for the first part of the program and the opportunity for smaller group discussion the second hour. Monthly guest speakers have included physicians, therapists and allied health professionals.
Transplant Education Classes
We also offer transplant education classes, which are open to patients, families, friends, and potential living donors of patients going through the evaluation process.
