Physical therapists at Scripps Health in San Diego who have special certifications in balance and vestibular rehabilitation create customized treatment plans for their patients that include:

About the vestibular system

The vestibular system is comprised of several tiny structures within the inner ear that help maintain our sense of balance. When these structures sense movement, they send signals to the muscles in our eyes and various parts of the body including the arms and legs. When the vestibular system is working properly, we are able to keep our balance and keep our gaze fixed on an object, even as our head or body moves.

What causes vestibular and balance problems?
