This study will compare the effectiveness of using a laser hair removal device in combination with gold micro-particles, to using a laser device alone, for the treatment of inflammatory acne. The goal of the study is to see if the micro-particles improve the skin more than just laser treatment.
Be 12-45 years old
Have a diagnosis of mild to moderate facial inflammatory acne vulgaris
Meet all other eligibility criteria
Have cystic or severe acne
Be pregnant or breast feeding
Have tattoos in the area of treatment
Have used oral retinoid therapy within 6 months, steroids within 4 weeks, or laser treatments within 8 weeks
Patients will be randomized, like the flip of coin, to treatment with the laser plus micro-particles or laser alone. Treatments will be every 14 days for up to 6 treatments.
