Breakfast Symposium: One Health Clinical Tools for Primary Care

Elizabeth Maloney, MD, Nevena Zubcevik, DO

Invisible International

This CME course will provide an overview of the One Health framework and describe how this framework can be applied in clinical practice. The One Health concept recognizes that the health of people, animals, and the environment are inextricably interconnected. The course uses Lyme disease to illustrate this approach and includes relevant peer reviewed studies on clinical strategies. It will also introduce a toolkit for integrating One Health considerations into clinical practice, including a validated symptom questionnaire, a risk assessment tool, and a virtual platform for AAFP accredited ongoing education. These tools will demonstrate how collaboration and partnership across human and animal health disciplines are essential to further developing innovative and climate-responsive clinical practices.
