The Sixth Annual Stroke conference is offered to support the best in advanced care and innovation for healthcare professionals who care for patients with, or who are at risk for, stroke. This year’s symposium highlights scientific advances in cardiac arrhythmias and stroke, transient ischemic attack, intra-cerebral hemorrhage, patient movement, decision-making and rehab for improved functional outcome.
Stroke expertise at Scripps is evident in the quality of interdisciplinary health care professionals presenting information to enhance patient care from a variety of medical perspectives. Content will include a comprehensive overview of stroke and the most up-to-date treatment options and technology.
After attending this live activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the correlation between stroke syndrome and anatomical structures.
- Identify and discuss unusual stroke symptoms.
- Review the incidence of posterior circulation stroke, recognition and treatment.
- Detect key concepts in management of secondary brain injury.
- Assess recent innovations in Neurosurgery.
- Evaluate nursing care and most recent Neurointerventional procedures and updates.
- Appraise key concepts related to stroke rehabilitation.
- Apply discharge planning considerations for the stroke patient.
- Through the use of case studies, identify lessons learned regarding stroke management at Scripps.
