Putting the patient first and providing quality, patient-centered care is not just our passion, but our mission at Scripps Health. That’s why it’s important that we partner with physicians and medical professionals who not only share our mission, but who also have all of the necessary qualifications and credentials to practice medicine that delivers quality, safe and compassionate care at Scripps.
Scripps currently has more than 3,200 medical professionals ranging from primary care to a variety of medical specialties. The medical staff consists of physicians (MD, DO), dentists (DDS, DMD) and podiatrists (DPM). Our advanced practice professionals consists of nurses (APN, FNP, CNM) and other disciplines such as physician assistants (PA), occupational therapists (OT) and doctors of philosophy (PhDs). Many of our medical professionals hold privileges at multiple Scripps facilities.
The Scripps Centralized Credentialing (SCC) office, in collaboration with Medical Staff Administration, conducts the credentialing for all Scripps entities, including our hospitals, clinics and health plans. Our rigorous credentialing process ensures that Scripps follows all federal and state regulatory requirements, as well as The Joint Commission accreditation standards for verifying credentials and granting privileges to qualified practitioners.
This process is performed at initial evaluation and reappointment, as well as ongoing monitoring of every Scripps physician’s education and training, current competence, certifications, licensure and professional conduct criteria. Much of the verified information gathered about our practitioners is displayed in the Doctor Finder on Scripps.org for physicians and prospective patients to view.
If you are a health care professional and have any questions or concerns regarding physician credentialing, please call Scripps Centralized Credentialing at 619-260-7105 or e-mail email@example.com.
