Annual stipends 2017-2018

  • PGY 1 $53,731/year
  • PGY 2 $55,830/year
  • PGY 3 $58,144/year

Benefits

Insurance

Health, dental, disability and life insurance plans are available for residents and families for a minimal cost. Residents also receive $5 million in liability insurance coverage. Residents may participate in the Scripps Wellness program to reduce their health care premiums.

Counseling

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free, confidential professional counseling for residents and their families.


Vacation leave

Residents receive 20 vacation days annually.


Travel

Travel expenses for any meetings at which a resident is presenting research is covered by the residency program. Humanitarian mission expenses are covered by the residency program.


Lunch

Meals are provided during noon conference and when residents are on-call.


Parking

Covered, secure parking is provided at no cost.


Uniforms

Residents are provided three lab coats.


Educational tools and resources

Each resident receives an annual American College of Physicians membership. All residents receive free access to the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) and to UptoDate.


Educational allowance

Second- and third-year residents receive a $2,000 educational stipend for continuing medical education.
